News from Green Apple Sales: Charities, Corporate-Sponsor Dinners, and Golf Outings!

In this article, I’d like to take a break from the content we normally put out and tell you about the recent goings-on at Green Apple Sales!

Just this past week, our team had the honor and pleasure of attending the special, invite-only Corporate Sponsor Dinner hosted by the Share Your Soles organization. This organization is responsible for donating shoes to impoverished, shoe-less people literally around the world.

Paul, Tom, Mickey, Mona, Dan, Seth, and Dave.

All the major sponsors of the organization – those who have financially contributed to it the most and helped make it the success that it is today – were invited to join Mona Purdy, the founder of Share Your Soles, for a private dinner at the Chicago Yacht Club.

It was such a blast! (We have pictures to prove it!)

This was a huge deal for us, after our direct involvement with the organization over the last several months. We’ve been working very closely with Mona to build a website for the organization that would give it a professional yet personal feel, which I think we’ve accomplished. (You can check out the website here).

We’re very excited to have been able to work with Mona and fully support everything that she’s done (and continues to do!). This woman works her tail off and it’s great to see such a noble cause accelerated by the support of both the sponsors and volunteers dedicated to helping her in her mission. We’re extremely glad to have been able to build the website that serves as the central hub of her online efforts.

In addition to the corporate sponsor dinner from Share Your Soles, Dan O’Callaghan announced that Green Apple Sales will be the Title Sponsor of the 18th Annual Herb Didier Memorial Golf Outing. This outing is being hosted by the Lincolnshire Morning Star Rotary Club and Share Your Soles in order to raise money for their charitable organizations.

I don’t know how we’ll shoot on the course, but I do know that we’re grateful to be able to help the cause of these 2 organizations, and will continue to do so in the future.

Share Your Soles a charity to be proud of.

Check out www.shareyoursoles.org It is a charity that was founded over a decade ago and has brought tons of shoes to people in need in over 40 countries including right here in the USA!

I am the President of Green Apple Sales, an internet marketing and web development firm based in New Lenox, Il.  I have been hunting for the last 6 months for a good solid charity to sponsor.  I looked at quite a few and spoke with the manager or director.  I did not feel personally or emotionally impacted by any of them.

Then I get an email from a friend Mary about Mona Purdy at Share Your Soles in Alsip, Il.  Mary explains that their website is never up to date and it is hard to find someone to do it consistently as they are all volunteers.

I told her I would give her a call.  We spoke and set up a day to meet.  I went to the warehouse to take a look at the operation and speak with Mona.  Wow!  That says it, huge, tons of volunteers, probably 200,000 pairs of shoes and everyone is working.  If you are in Chicago and you do not stop in to see this place you are really missing out.

Mona is a very real person and she is as genuine as they come.  I stayed for over 3 hours as she explained all about Share Your Soles while directing and talking to everyone else.  I left knowing exactly what they are about and I was overwhelmed by the first experience of being there and seeing so many people working together for a good cause.  I guess this proves the world ain’t all bad.

As you have probably figured out Green Apple Sales now proudly sponsors Share Your Soles, and we will be donating many of our services.  I suggest you go take a look for yourself.  After you do… I can almost guarantee you will be compelled to get involved in some way.

Even if you can not make it out there, or you are not near Chicago go to the Share Your Soles website and make a donation they have a ton of shoes and need more funds to clean and ship them.
